Books
Film
After several years writing both theater and a fiction series (under a super secret pen name), I’m now working on my first television project. I’m currently developing a sitcom with Readymade Films in Berlin, about an East German hotel in the 1970s. Let’s just say that if Basil Fawlty had been a Stasi agent, this is the hotel he would have run — proudly.
Public Art
My book Ghostbodies: Towards a New Theory of Invalidism and the conversations it ignited led to the collaborative public art and public health project The Way We Live Now, an interactive play. Produced in 2018 through partnerships with Fenway Health, Boston Medical Center, and other stakeholders across Boston, The Way We Live Now focused on facilitating public conversations about our experiences within this epidemic. In order to better support community projects such as this, I completed training as a Community Health Worker in 2019 through the Cambridge Health Alliance. Most recently, I’ve continued this work through the creation of a temporary and participatory opioid epidemic memorial for the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture in 2020. Across these projects, my work has been supported by The Boston Foundation, the New England Foundation for the Arts, and the Boston Cultural Council.
Content Strategy
Since 2022, I’ve worked as a freelance content strategist with the digital services agency Bloom Works. I’ve worked for a variety of clients, including ORGANIZE, Every Child Tennessee, the California Office of Data and Innovation, and Marin County. I specialize in working closely with user researchers and designers at all points in a sprint, from discovery to launch and iteration. I have expertise in plain language writing, information architecture and taxonomy creation, and UX content creation.
Example projects I’ve contributed to:
A playbook of foster care best practices for child welfare agencies
A report on the state of organ donation reform
A redesigned website for Marin County
A new website for Every Child Tennessee
A database of guidance for journalists writing about DE&I-related issues
